Amex representatives promised that the facility would be reopening in “late 2021” which obviously didn’t happen. The Centurion Lounge at Los Angeles International Airport has been closed due to building repairs which began in June of last year. The terminal is still almost a ghost town with a lot of concessions closed. This latest incident with the HVAC system wasn’t their fault and I’m even more confused about the company footing the bill for all the repairs as well as the lease of the temporary space at TBIT. This entire LAX venture has been a disaster for Amex and I feel sorry for them. Maybe it makes limited sense if you’re going there from the American Airlines Terminal (T4) but other than that I’d pass. While TBIT is accessible from other terminals through the interlink walkways one should note that LAX is a monster of an airport and that it’s hardly worth it to walk all the way to this terminal and back just to spend time at the Centurion Lounge. The evening/night departures are out of luck though. One might note the limited opening hours of this lounge as it closes at 4:30pm which should however cover most of the international departures that go through TBIT during the day. No details have been given on what caused these alleged repairs or when the facility will finally reopen.
